Honeywell First Responder Products (formerly Total
Fire Group) has documented that at the time of their submission for review, these
cleaning agents meet the minimum NFPA 1851 and Honeywell SOP requirements for the cleaning of fire fighter protective
clothing. This is based on a review of the cleaning agent composition and pH, but
does not include a determination for how effective each cleaning agent is in removing fireground soils
and other contaminants. Furthermore, Honeywell First Responder Products has not determined if repeated use of the following
cleaning agents will cause any damage of clothing materials or components, or loss of performance properties.
Lastly,
Honeywell
First Responder
Products has not taken into account if there are variations in the cleaning product if
blended in different parts of the country and does not monitor over any
period of time if there have been any formulation changes
that could affect the use of this cleaning agent.
It is the responsibility of the cleaning agent manufacturer
or supplier to demonstrate the correct use, cleaning and decontamination efficacy of their products specific to customer’s satisfaction and to further demonstrate that repeated use of their product according to provided
instructions will not damage clothing or cause any loss of protective performance. Failure to understand the
limitations of this List for cleaning agents, and to require appropriate information from the manufacturer
or supplier of the cleaning agent, may result in serious injury or death.
