Cleaning and Repair Facilities
The 2008 edition of NFPA 1851, Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting is available in printed form, and supersedes the 2001 edition. The new 2008 edition significantly modifies the requirements for the care, cleaning and repair of Structural and Proximity PPE. It is Total Fire Group’s intention to supplement our Dayton-based Care and Cleaning facility with a network of qualified, industry- leading Independent Service Providers (ISPs) spread across North America. We are offering no-charge instruction to qualified houses that meet our requirements. This training can be arranged by contacting our Cleaning and Care Program Manager, Mr. Brian Marenco at 610-345-1234.
Total Fire Group brands -- Morning Pride, American Firewear, PRO-Warrington, Ranger, Servus, and Total Fire Group -- are already working with the care providers listed below to upgrade their maintenance programs on our brands in recognition of the new edition requirements. As care providers complete this process, this web site will be updated. In the interim, the ISPs below have been granted provisional recognition by Total Fire Group. The provision is contingent upon the ISP’s successful completion of 3rd Party Repair Verification where applicable, and upon full completion or refresher courses on our care policies and programs. It is not reliable to assume that previously approved care providers are still acceptable per the upgraded 2008 edition of NFPA 1851 requirements. Periodic updates to this site will include the following changes:
- Additions of new recognized ISPs as they complete training.
- Deletion of ISPs if they are no longer recognized (for instance, trained staff leaves them or audits reveal quality issues).
- New levels of ISP recognition, such as Warranty partners, authorized to perform Total Fire Group Warranty repairs as those become available.
End use customers or ISPs (meeting our standards) can arrange for training on the more advanced topics such as Advanced Cleaning, Advanced Inspection and Repairs by contacting Brian Marenco at 610 345 1234. Only Total Fire Group can provide ISP training on any level. Approved ISPs can only train end users on the basic 1851 topics listed below. Click on any ISP for contact information.
